Miracle in Cell #7
Synopsis:
In 1997 Lebanon, Ziad, a simple fisherman and salt harvester, lives peacefully with his daughter Zeina and his father Ibrahim. Ziad, who is on the autism spectrum, faces neighborhood ridicule. Tarek, a former warlord and aspiring politician, seeks the family’s coastal land for property development.
When Ziad tries to save a drowning child, Lea (Tarek’s daughter), tragedy strikes. Tarek falsely accuses Ziad, leading to the death penalty. Inside Roumieh prison, Ziad bonds with fellow inmates, and they help him reunite with Zeina.
Outside, Zeina’s teacher investigates Ziad’s case and discovers the discrimination underlying it, while the skeptical warden Ghassan uncovers flaws and Tarek’s corrupt influence. It’s a race against time as Ziad battles an unjust legal system that shows no mercy to the vulnerable.
